Harvard-Westlake School seeks to hire an exceptional and highly qualified individual for a part-time position teaching 2 sections of Introduction to Contemporary Dance in the Middle School dance program (grades 7-9). The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of contemporary dance (teaching, creating, and performing) and a passion for working with middle schoolers.
In the Harvard-Westlake Performing Arts Department, we foster technical achievement, creativity, collaboration, and self-expression. We teach fundamental techniques, inspire experimentation, encourage cultural awareness, and believe in students’ artistic endeavors.
This position is part-time without benefits, starting in August for the 2024-25 school year.

This position may also include opportunities for additional after-school contracted work within the department, such as choreography for the fall musical, rehearsal direction for other dance performances, and support in conducting spring class placement auditions.
Harvard-Westlake School is an independent, co-educational college preparatory day school consisting of two campuses located in Los Angeles, California, with approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades seven through twelve.
