Athletic Trainer

Location: Studio City, CA

Position Summary

Harvard-Westlake School seeks a collaborative, highly motivated, and qualified Athletic Trainer to support the health, safety, and performance of student-athletes. As a member of the Sports Medicine Department, this role is responsible for the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

The Athletic Trainer works closely with an interdisciplinary team—including coaches, athletic trainers, sports performance staff, and sports psychology—to support student-athlete well-being and performance. This position includes coverage of assigned practices and competitions, including home and away events, as well as postseason play as directed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive athletic training services, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation
  • Serve as an active member of the Sports Medicine team, contributing to a collaborative, student-centered environment
  • Maintain all required certifications and continuing education in accordance with BOC standards
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for middle and upper school student-athletes
  • Communicate effectively with coaches, performance staff, sports psychology, and administration regarding athlete health, status, and readiness
  • Facilitate appropriate physician referrals based on student-athlete needs
  • Accurately document injuries, treatments, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR) system
  • Collaborate with the Community Health Office and academic leadership to support student-athletes requiring academic accommodations
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents regarding student-athlete health and care plans
  • Support general health needs within the broader student population as needed
  • Coordinate with the Business Office regarding injury-related documentation and communication

Qualifications

  • BOC Certified Athletic Trainer
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Current CPR/AED (Emergency Cardiac Care) certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a full-time Athletic Trainer in a secondary school, collegiate, or professional setting

Compensation & Schedule

The salary range for this position is $70,000 – $85,000, commensurate with experience. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

About Harvard-Westlake

Harvard-Westlake is an independent school with two campuses in Los Angeles and approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades 7–12. Classes for grades 7–9 take place on the Middle School campus in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, while grades 10–12 are housed on the Upper School campus in Studio City. A third campus, River Park, focused on athletics and recreation, is scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
