Harvard-Westlake Middle School is seeking a highly qualified temporary history/social studies teacher for our 7th (American History & Government) and 9th (The Mediterranean and Europe) grade offerings. This full-time position will last for one semester, from late August (2024) to January (2025). Our history program takes pride in its commitment to caring for students as individual learners and in our collaborative approach to curriculum development. Ideal candidates should possess a passion for teaching history/social studies and working with middle school students. Additionally, candidates should have subject expertise, a strong work ethic, high standards for themselves and others, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are an independent school consisting of two campuses located in Los Angeles, California. We have approximately 1,600 curious, thoughtful, and inspiring students enrolled in grades seven through twelve.
