ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for a Yoga Instructor to join Harvard-Westlake's Athletics department. In this role, you’ll teach classes to students (Grades 10-12) twice per week, giving students a space to build strength, flexibility, and focus alongside the rest of their athletic and academic routine. This is an in-person, part-time, non-exempt position that requires approximately 1.5-2 hours per week.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
This role teaches a directed study course that meets twice per week.
Class Instruction
Plan and lead a yoga class, adapting poses, pacing, and difficulty to a range of experience levels
Teach proper alignment, breathing technique, and safe modifications, prioritizing student safety in every session
Create a welcoming, low-pressure environment where students of any prior yoga experience feel comfortable participating
Set up and clean up the community space used for class and maintain equipment

Required
Current yoga instructor certification (e.g., RCYT/RYT-200 or equivalent) from a recognized training program
Demonstrated experience teaching group yoga classes to students or adults with a range of experience levels; experience teaching yoga in a school or youth-serving setting preferred
Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate scheduling directly with school staff
Commitment to inclusive practice and the ability to work effectively with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (or ability to complete upon hire)
SCHEDULE
Two 45-minute sessions per week, approximately 1.5 –2 hours total, to be coordinated with the school calendar and Athletics department. This role does not include additional hours beyond the scheduled class. This is a part-time, non-exempt, hourly position teaching from September through June.
COMPENSATION
This is a non-exempt position with a base compensation of $30–$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
ABOUT HARVARD-WESTLAKE
Harvard-Westlake is an independent school with two campuses in Los Angeles and approximately 1,600 students enrolled in grades 7–12. Classes for grades 7–9 take place on the Middle School campus in the Holmby Hills neighborhood, while grades 10–12 are housed on the Upper School campus in Studio City. A third campus, River Park, focused on athletics and recreation, is scheduled to open in Fall 2026.
